Some information really fits nowhere else so I will list it on this page. The first one is in response to a question
I posed about the growing trend of domestic violence. I will try to preface other information as to it's source and necessity
for being listed.
I was told by a Superior Court judge. There is a connection between
drug use, especially MethAmphetamine use, manufacture,
and sale, and
domestic violence. He explained how when the courts start seeing more
drug related cases in the court,
the police records will show an
increase in domestic violence.
Add to that the number of illegal immigrants in the
USA, most probably
don't call police for fear of being deported. However schools are now
required to report suspected
cases of abuse, as well as doctors. I am
not sure if there is a connection to unemployment and domestic abuse,
but it
seems there would be. There is also domestic violence within
same sex relationship, their is a more open dialog about homosexuality
in
today's world so same sex couples may be more likely to report same
sex abuse that may not have been being reported years
ago. Also there
seems to be a re-surging of religious fundamentalism, whether it is
documented or not, I don't know,
but I sure there is a connection with
domestic violence and the pursuit for piety.
